The importance of properly citing sources to avoid plagiarism and establish credibility is growing more important.  It’s critical for students at the high school level to understand this concept and begin to use the various styles associated with giving credit.

This assignment was designed to let students use various web-based technologies and sites to learn about how to properly use the Modern Language Association (MLA) style.  It’s divided into three components and the students into three groups.  Each group learns about a specific component and then prepares a presentation to teach back to the the rest of the class.  This teaching back helps to build the community.

This was originally developed and used for students at Riverside High in Basin, Wyoming but could be used anywhere and in the online classroom as well.
